It's difficult to get a table for dinner at Morton's of Chicago without a reservation - although the American steakhouse at the International Financial Center, which can accommodate more than 400 diners, is already the largest among its sister properties worldwide.

To help satisfy the demands, the restaurant is serving a value-for-money Prime Lunch set, which is just as good as its dinner offerings.

The two-course set lunch offers a choice of soup or salad as appetizer including lobster bisque, baked five-kind-onion soup, classic Caesar salad and the Morton's Salad with chopped egg, anchovies and Morton's blue-cheese dressing.

Diners can choose from three main courses priced at 188 yuan ($29): the Morton's Prime Burger with steak fries, grilled salmon with sauted garlic green beans, or colossal grilled shrimp and sea scallops with grilled vegetables served with beurre blanc sauce over sauted spinach. For steak lovers, the grilled rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes is also available as part of the set for 288 yuan.

It's good food with a good view, and you can gaze out the window onto Lujiazui as you enjoy your juicy steaks. The service here is friendly and attentive and makes the meal very pleasant.

Attention to details includes an iced plate for your salad and a warmed plate for your main course.

Morton's dishes can be described as "happily oversized", as the portions of the set meal really surprised me.

My choice of center-cut iceberg salad had generous toppings and dressing over half a lettuce. I loved the refreshing taste, and enjoyed the crisp crunch of the vegetable when the knife cut into it.

When the huge Morton's Prime Burger that I ordered arrived, I knew I was not going to be able to finish it. It was certainly enough for two women diners, especially when it has a generous side of steak fries. But it was so delicious that I made a pretty good job out of it, from the first juicy bite of the succulent burger.

Dessert was the signature Morton's Legendary Sundae with ice cream and chocolate on top of freshly baked chocolate cake. When the ice cream and hot cake meets, the temptation is irresistible. But again, spread the sin by sharing this with at least one, or two, friends.
