Pop singer Hu Xia showed up in Beijing to support the charity event, Love Earth Love Music, which aims to help victims of the earthquakes that struck in Yiliang county and neighboring areas in Yunnan province on Sept 7.
The singer, who rose to fame in 2009 as the first singer from the mainland to win Taiwan's TV singing competition One Million Star, also joined One Foundation, launched by kung fu star Jet Li, to support reconstruction work in quake-hit areas.
The charity event will also tour the country, including Shanghai and Chengdu, to solicit for more help and support.
