Drive less, reduce traffic jams

Comment on "Debate: Urban congestion" (China Daily, April 12)
I think people should use their cars less often to reduce traffic jams.
I live in Shanghai and know a person who drives only three blocks to work. When he decides to eat out, he insists on driving to a restaurant even if it is only about 1 km away.
This man once told me that he enjoyed the "prestige" of having and driving a car. But for me, it represents a culture that does not suit modern society.
