13 Macao handball athletes injured in road accident

NANCHANG - Thirteen women handball athletes from Macao Special Administrative Region were injured in a car accident in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said Sunday.
A local volunteer was also injured in the accident, which occurred at about 2:40 p.m. when the medium-sized coach they were riding rolled over while dodging a motorcycle, according to a statement released by the municipal government's press office.
Among the wounded athletes, six suffered minor injuries while the seven others were in "more serious conditions", according to the statement.
All the injured athletes and the volunteer have been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, and doctors said the injuries were not life-threatening.
There were altogether 21 people in the bus, including 16 athletes, two coaches, one team leader, one volunteer and the driver.
The handball team was returning from a match for the 7th National Inter-City Games, which is held in Nanchang.
