ATLANTA -- Firefighters say four people received minor injuries when a Delta Air Lines flight experienced trouble with its landing gear upon touching down at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Kathleen Bergen said Delta flight 2284 from Pittsburgh landed at the airport around 4:15 pm The MD-88 jet suffered either a blown tire, a locked-up brake or perhaps both, causing a fire.

Atlanta Fire Department Capt. Jolyon Bundrige said 49 passengers were evacuated from the plane. None of the four people reporting injuries required hospitalization.

The fire department initially reported that the fire was in the plane's right engine, then said it was in the right rear landing gear. The fire was extinguished with foam in less than a minute after fire crews arrived.
