The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy hospital ship Peace Ark and US Navy hospital ship Mercy have conducted extensive exchanges since the Rim of the Pacific exercise (RIMPAC) started on June 26 in and off the Hawaii Islands. Just on July 24, three US Navy medical officers returned to Mercy after visiting Peace Ark for three days. They are the first hospital ships participating in the RIMPAC since the world’s largest naval drill began in 1971. [Photo provided by US Navy hospital ship Mercy] |
