"I am not afraid of appearing before any Committee, including a Joint Parliamentary Committee. I will be quite happy to appear before any committee," the prime minister said at an interaction with editors of the Indian media.

Singh said he hadn't thought of quitting when the Parliament was brought to a standstill by opposition demanding a Joint Parliamentary Commission probe into the 2G spectrum allocations in 2008.

He added: "I wish to assure the country as a whole our government is dead serious to bring to book all the wrongdoers regardless of their position in 2G spectrum."
