"In a message (delivered to the DPRK,) the ROK side agreed on the need for inter-Korean cooperation on volcanic activities at Mount Paekdu," the unification ministry said in a press release.
The DPRK's proposal came last week in what observers here say might be a sign that the country is willing to ease inter-Korean tension.
