Local witnesses in Taiz told Xinhua that protesters managed on Tuesday to shut down government buildings in the districts of Khadeer and Haifan. Over the past few days, government compounds in the districts of Samie, Sabir, Mawia and Al-Mawasit were also closed by protesters by force.

In the southern city port of Aden, angry protesters closed the provincial office of the Education Ministry in Sayra district.

Elsewhere in the southern province of Ibb, anti-government protesters closed the headquarters of Ibb University.

The protesters also shut down the building of local council in the western province of al-Hudayda.
