IOC members visit construction work in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO - International Olympic Committee (IOC) members are inspecting construction work at Maracana and other venues being prepared for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The members of the IOC's Rio 2016 commission are touring construction sites across Rio to observe the city's progress.

On Wednesday they watched from up close the work being done at Maracana, which is being completely renovated to accommodate the games' opening and closing ceremonies.

The IOC's three-day visit ends on Thursday.
