The Libyan leader, in an audio message relayed to thousands of his supporters in Sabha, some 750 km south of capital Tripoli, urged NATO to stop attacking the government troops and said NATO is wrong to think it can topple the Libyan leadership.

He demanded the NATO stop carrying on airstrikes against and troops and leave the Libyans alone to solve their problems.

Meanwhile, he said "the gathering of more than a million people is a new message to Europe, to the crusaders and colonialists, the leadership does not belong to Gadhafi, it is the people's government and the people will not give up an inch of its land or bow down to invaders," he said.
