PARIS - French Constitutional Council President Jean Louis Debre released Monday afternoon the list of candidates for the upcoming presidential election.
In total, 10 candidates were formalized at a plenary session of the Constitutional Council, including Nicolas Sarkozy (UMP, the incumbent president), Francois Hollande (PS), Marine Le Pen (FN), Francois Bayrou (Modem ), Jean-Luc Melenchon (Front de gauche), Eva Joly (EELV), Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (Debout la Republique), Nathalie Arthaud (Lutte ouvriere), Philippe Poutou (Nouveau Parti anticapitaliste) and Jacques Cheminade, who is defined as " Gaullist left. "
