MOGADISHU, Somalia - A police officer says a suicide bomber has detonated an explosion inside Somalia's newly reopened national theater as a ceremony was taking place.
Policeman Abdimalik Hassan said government officials and other dignitaries were in attendance at the theater on Wednesday.
An Associated Press reporter on the scene said that bodies were being carried out of the theater. The death or injury toll wasn't immediately known.
The theater reopened last month as part of a general revival in Mogadishu.
