Boat mishap in Gabon kills at least 30

LIBREVILLE - A boat loaded with more than 60 illegal immigrants capsized off the coast of Gabon, leaving at least 30 people dead, rescuers reported on Thursday.
Several survivors were found and 30 bodies recovered after the boast sank at night in the waters off the coast of Cap Esterias, 40 km away from the Gabonese capital Libreville, a rescuer told Xinhua on telephone.
The mishap was linked to stormy weather.
The wreck was the second in the past days off the coast of West Africa. On Friday, a wooden boat carrying more than 100 illegal immigrants capsized off Nigeria. According to the latest information, rescuers have found 29 survivors and more than 40 bodies.
