Low carbon never means low fun

A British teenager makes the most of windy weather by using the country's first roadworthy bike with a sail. Ned Aufenast, 19, designed a windsurfing tricycle for an A-level project and is now helping create the machine for the commercial market. He built his first wind-powered bike at school using £50 (523 yuan) worth of scrap parts to fix a wind-surfing-type sail to a tricycle. Dutch manufacturer Whike was so impressed with his design it made him director of its UK subsidiary and he is now selling the environmentally-friendly sail bikes in Britain for the first time.
