Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) is holding an exhibition of paintings and calligraphy by Chen Sui-Kang at the CCACC Art Gallery in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The exhibition, on display until Sep 3, features more than 30 works of calligraphy, flower and bird paintings as well as landscape paintings by Chen. A Chinese guohua painter who graduated from the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University, Chen learned from many contemporary masters and developed his own unique style, devoting his lifetime to learning and inheriting the essence of Chinese painting. The exhibition focuses on introducing the essence, styles and techniques of traditional Chinese painting, including the brushwork, line and ink used by the painter. Chen’s famous paintings, including Banana Trees, Bamboo, and Cocks Comb are displayed in the exhibition. PROVIDED TO CHINA DAILY
