Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises will hold its first Mid-Autumn Festival cruise around Manhattan on Sept 16 with live onboard Chinese music performances to celebrate one of the most popular Chinese holidays.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years in China and other Asian countries, with traditions of moon worship and family gathering. The full moon represents harmony and family unity in the Chinese culture, originating from the legends of the Moon Goddess Chang’e.

Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, which has had more than 60 million passengers on its cruises since starting in 1945, will hold the Mid-Autumn cruise aboard a World War II Coast Guard cutter starting at 7 pm. Chinese artists will perform on Chinese musical instruments, and passengers will be given the traditional mooncakes.

Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises hosted a Moonlight Cruise with famous Peking opera singer Huoding Zhang as well as Lunar New Year fireworks.
