Woman drinks entire bottle of XO and is barred from plane
A woman was barred from boarding a plane at Beijing Capital International Airport after she downed an entire bottle of expensive cognac and was "too drunk to fly", Beijing Times reported on Monday.
The female passenger surnamed Zhao was stopped at the security check point at the airportfor bringing a bottle of Rémy Martin XO Excellence in her hand luggage, as passengers are prohibited from bringing liquids over 100ml in their hand luggage in China.
Fearing the expensive liquor would go to waste, Zhao just downed the entire bottle.
After that, she started rolling on the floor at a boarding gate, shouting and screaming. "She was so drunk that she couldn't even stand up herself," a police officer at the airport said.
According to the report, the captain of the flight Zhao should have taken refused to allow her on the plane as she was travelling alone, and was concerned that her condition could affect safety on board.
Zhao woke up some hours later and thanked police for taking care of her. They contacted her family members who took her home.
