China's restaurant market is as vibrant as ever, with growth outstripping other major markets and showing extraordinary resilience in a time of lower GDP growth. According to China Cuisine Association statistics, the country's catering service market grew by 11.7 percent in 2015, to reach 3.23 trillion yuan ($490.9 billion).

According to a recent report released by OC&C Strategy Consultants, the country is now home to nearly 8 million food service points of sale and dozens of unique local cuisines. As disposable incomes rise and a younger middle class generation emerges, lifestyles are changing.
