Beijing – Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi urged to develop China-US relations in a spirit of "mutual respect, mutual benefits and win-win cooperation" between the two countries.
Yang made the statement during a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Beijing.
In recent years China and the US have witnessed a healthy, steady development, which serves the fundamental interests of people in both nations and contributes to peace and stability of the Asia-Pacific region as well as the world, Yang said.
Clinton recalled a series of in-depth consultation within her this term, including the fourth US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue and the 12th meeting between the two presidents.
"Washington continues to stress the importance of the practical cooperation that underlies our comprehensive relationship," Clinton said.
"We're committed to building a cooperative partnership with China, it is a key aspect of our rebalancing in the Asia-Pacific," she said.
Both sides exchanged views on bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues of common concerns.
