China and Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in marine science and technology.
The memorandum was signed between Pakistan's Ministry of Science and Technology and China's ocean watchdog on Wednesday, the State Oceanic Administration said.
The memorandum covers, among others, marine research and investigation, climate change, marine energy and exploration, satellite application, accident prevention and an exchange of marine experts and officials.
Liu Cigui, head of the State Oceanic Administration, suggested establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism and launching the first China-Pakistan marine science and technology cooperation conference this year.
Liu added China will support the construction of an integrated marine observation station for both countries.
