Villagers trust unusual remedy

More than 20 households in Zhonglupu town, Xiangtan city, Central China's Hunan province are drinking powdered cattle and sheep droppings believing it could cure cancer and other diseases, youth.cn reported.

The villagers collect the droppings in the mountains, roast and hang them out to dry before grinding them into powder and mixing them with water. They take two bottles of the mixture every day, one in the morning and one at night, each with one spoonful of droppings.

The "cure" was first promoted by an elder female villager, who said her son working in South China's Hainan province got her the tip from a "sacred doctor",and that her lung cancer improved after drinking the mixture for eight months since January.
