China's first cloned calf was born on a farm in Caoxian county, East China's Shandong province in 2002, though it only survived one hour, according to China Daily.

And this August witnessed Niu Niu, a cloned, genetically modified cow, giving birth to a healthy calf in Beijing, according to Beijing Youth Daily.
