Shanghai tops image rankings
According to a survey on city image conducted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai came in first with a score of 8.44. This was followed by Hangzhou (8.35) of Zhejiang province, Beijing (8.13) and Xiamen (8.13) of Fujian province.
The survey, which polled a total of 3,600 people nationwide, was designed to determine the image of 36 Chinese cities based on factors such as ecology, economy, culture, government, residents and living condition. The survey also showed that Shanghai was regarded as the best in terms of environmental protection, infrastructure construction, economic competitiveness, investment destination and working conditions.
Cosmetics giant to collaborate with Tmall
Shanghai Jahwa United Co Ltd on Dec 21 signed a strategic agreement with Tmall, China’s largest business-to-customer marketplace owned by e-commerce giant Alibaba, reported the official website of China Securities Journal.
The deal between the Shanghai-listed personal care and cosmetics manufacturer and Tmall will expand their cooperation in online retail, product research, development and innovation, big data application, network and technological projects and logistics. The two companies began to further their partnership in the first half of 2015 and sales revenues of Shanghai Jahwa on Tmall had soared 300 percent to exceed 100 million yuan ($15.4 million) during the Single’s Day sales spree in China on Nov 11.
