E-commerce pilot programs to reduce poverty

E-commerce poverty relief pilot programs have been launched in 428 impoverished counties. The first such pilot program was started in Longnan city, Northwest China's Gansu province, at the beginning of 2015. Two years later, 980 online shops were started in the city, increasing the revenue of 150,000 impoverished people at the end of 2016.

Youlegou, a targeted online poverty relief program, pools local produces from the villagers of East China's Jiangxi province and sells them online. By the end of 2016, there are 1,336 online shops for Youlegou in Jiangxi selling more than 2,000 varieties of agricultural produces with an accumulative sales volume of more than 60 million yuan.
