Sculptures from Dazu Rock Carvings displayed in Britain

Photo taken on Jan. 25, 2011 shows sculptures from the Dazu Rock Carvings, a world heritage site of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, at the National Museum Wales in Cardiff, Britain. Forty-eight rock carvings from Dazu, mostly dating from the 9th to the 13th century, will be displayed at the museum from Jan. 26 to April 3, the first time of the Dazu rock carvings to be displayed outside China. Started in the middle of the 7th century, the Dazu Rock Carvings are made up of 75 protected sites containing some 50,000 statues, and were listed as a World Heritage Site in 1999. [Xinhua/Zeng Yi]
