UCCA Family Day III will be held on Saturday. It features 3 great new UCCA exhibitions, a “Magical Mystery Numeral Tour” guided by UCCA staff, a festival of French short animated films that both kids and parents will love, a “Rocking and Recycling” Children’s Art Workshop, a children’s ballet about dancing toys, and super food and drink specials all day long at SWITCH! Restaurant. So come join us for a magical day of art, learning and adventure for the whole family!

UCCA Family Day Programs:

1. August 20 (SAT), 10:00 – 11:00 Kids’ Art Discovery Adventure: Magical Mystery Numeral Tour Designer: Qian Lu In this special Kids’ Art Discovery Adventure, UCCA guides will lead parents and kids on a “Magical Mystery Numeral our” of UCCA’s current exhibitions. Each family will receive a map of UCCA’s current exhibitions and some clues to inding the “secret numbers” hidden within the artworks. A great way of bringing together mathematical and numerical iteracy with a deeper understanding of contemporary art. So let’s go sleuthing for numbers, searching for clues. Let the agical Mystery Numeral Tour begin!

UCCA Big Hall: Tatsuo Miyajima’s Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust, a digital tour-de-force of dancing numbers and glittering igits.

UCCA Black Box & White Cube: “Curated by Song Dong”, featuring Ma Qiusha’s Address and Wang Shang’s Sleuthing 2 young artists reflect on the meaning of home and family, the past and the future.

UCCA Lobby, Nave, Middle Room and corridors: Song Dong’s Wisdom of the Poor (2005-2011) – acclaimed artist Song Dong transforms UCCA into “the streets of Beijing” with courtyard houses, hutong alleys, and whimsical installations featuring iconic Beijing items such as pigeon cages, bicycles, cabbages, 1950s furniture and more!
