Beaujolais nouveau

At one past midnight on the third Thursday of each November, banners proclaim the good news: Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrive! "The New Beaujolais has arrived!" You won't have to wait quite that late next week: Novotel San-yuan will host a tasting starting at 7 pm: Members of sponsoring French organizations pay 80 yuan ($12.50), non-members 100 yuan to enter, with wine by the glass from 15-50 yuan. Chinese wine dinner

Sofitel Wanda Hotel hosts a wine dinner next Friday, pairing five 1421 wines from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at its Yi Pin Chinese restaurant. The six-course dinner includes sweet-and-sour mandarin fish, Wagyu beef with black pepper and egg dumpling for 688 yuan.
