Comment on "Good deed reveals our true nature" (China Daily, Jan 19)

It is good to hear that some young people are not afraid of doing the right thing. More people need to follow their example.

People today are averse to helping others not because they don't want to do so, but because they are afraid of the risks involved.

A legal system that can put a good Samaritan in trouble needs to be changed. How can a person use the law to sue someone who tries to help him or her?

Chinese people have always tried to avoid risks. Perhaps if the legal system is changed to ensure that good Samaritans do not encounter trouble, more people will help others.

I hope the authorities reform the legal system to protect good Samaritans.
