Beijing Ducks makes 7th straight win

BEIJING - Beijing Ducks extended its miraculous winning streaks after easing past Shanxi Zhongyu 121-97 on Sunday in the seventh round of 2011-2012 CBA regular season.

Shanxi foreign duo Charles Gaines and Marcus Williams posed extreme threat to the home team in and out of the paint in the first half. Each buried a team-high 13 points. While Beijing's two promising youngsters Zhu Yuanxi and Ji Zhe also did a good job to keep the score close 28-27 by the end of the first quarter.

NBA superstar Stephon Marbury stood out with Randolph Morris in the second to extend the one-point advantage to double digits on 57-46. Ji Zhe, who grabbed 19 points and 12 rebounds, made a flying dunk to lead Beijing 75-58 with 4 minutes left in the third period, thoroughly igniting enthusiasm of the stadium.

Last quarter witnessed the overall outburst of Beijing, whose 6 players scored double to boost Beijing heap 121 points, the highest by far. Morris had a team-high 26 points and 7 rebounds. Marbury added 19 points.

Shanxi's Gaines and Williams each scored 31 to lead the team, comparing with others' flat performance.

After usurping the lead 18-17 in the first quarter, Zhejiang Guangsha never looked back to clinch an easy win over Jilin Northeast Tigers on 109-89. NBA Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler grabbed 20 points, followed by center Ramos's double-double 17 points and 15 rebounds.

In Sunday's other matches, Dongguan Marco Polo beat Shandong Gold 100-94, Fujian SBS beat Qingdao doublestar 120-96, Liaoning Hengye beat Shanghai Sharks 118-99, Bayi Fubang beat Jiangsu Nangang 99-97, Xinjiang Guanghui beat Tianjin Ronggang 121-108.
