Symphony honors Chinese-American history
A symphonic chorus commemorating the hardship and contribution of generations of Chinese in the US premiered at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in College Park, Maryland, on May 19. Toward the Future is the result of four years of work by composer David Xiangyu Zhang. He was the conductor at the debut concert, joined by lyricist Diantao Sun and a range of Chinese-American opera singers and musicians. [Photo by Sun Chenbei / China Daily]
