MOSCOW - Two people were killed when a train on the Moscow subway went off the rails between two stations on Tuesday, and up to 45 were injured, an emergency services official said.
About 200 people were evacuated by rescue workers, the emergency official told Rossiya-24 television, and 20 were earlier reported trapped in one of the damaged rail cars.
"The train braked suddenly as a result of which several cars were derailed," a spokesman for the emergency ministry told Reuters.
He said the accident occurred between the Slaviansky Boulevard and Park Pobedy stations during the morning rush hour in central Moscow.
