BEIJING - German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will visit China and attend the 3rd foreign minister-level strategic dialogue from October 11 to 13, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei announced Tuesday.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of China-Germany relations. The visit by Westerwelle will further promote the bilateral strategic partnership, Hong said.

Westerwelle will attend the dialogue as guest of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
