Explosion occurs at PetroChina refinery

SHENYANG - Firefighters are battling a blaze at a northeast China oil refinery after an explosion at the complex at around 9 am Wednesday.

No casualties have yet been reported from the incident at a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation in Fushun city, Liaoning province.

The explosion happened at a refinery of Fushun Petrochemical Company, said a spokesman for the Publicity Department of Fushun Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

No other information was immediately available.
