BEIJING - China's online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace for wholesale products, DHgate.com, announced Tuesday the launch of DHgate Express, an integrated service platform to help small and medium traders in China better tap the overseas market.

The platform will offer a wide range of services, including taking and uploading product pictures, optimizing search terms and facilitating distribution, to encourage more Chinese traders to sell to foreign markets through the internet.

Diane Wang, the founder and CEO of DHgate.com, said at the press conference that culture barriers and complex cross-border trading procedures sometimes scare traders away from traditional online platforms.

"By actively offering such services, the new platform is aimed at lowering the threshold for business and to help small and medium enterprises tap the global market," she said.

As a transaction platform, DHgate mainly targets small and medium-sized buyers from all over the world by offering a wide range of wholesale items.

According to a report by China E-commerce Research Center, China's B2B e-commerce turnover totaled 3.8 trillion yuan ($580 billion) in 2010.

Experts predict the volume will reach 4.8 trillion yuan and 6 trillion yuan in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
