China is expected to surpass the US to become the world's top trading nation by 2025, with its trade volume accounting for 13 percent in the world market, HSBC said.

The bank forecasts that China's trade volume will reach $6.3 trillion, increasing 1.5 fold in the next 14 years, thanks to the demand for commodities and increasing manufacturing activities.

Even if Chinese trade faces uncertainty or a slowdown in a short term, it will still be one of the main growth drivers of global trade in the long run, HSBC said.

Based on their share of global trade, the world's five largest trading nations will be China, the US, Germany, Japan and France.
