China's UHV technology leads the world
An ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission experiment is carried out at minus 20 C at an experimental base of the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, Jan 9, 2011. The experiment base is a leader in doing 12 UHV-related experiments in the world. In order to link major energy production bases with the nation's power-guzzling regions to ensure power supply, State Grid Corp of China announced in last August that it will build a network of ultra-high-voltage lines in northern, eastern and central China by 2015.[Photo/Asianewsphoto]
