A total of 36 residents living in the“increasingly dangerous building”in Shanxi's capital city, Taiyuan, will be resettled after media reports in March, Xinhua reported Tuesday.

The building has stood 6 meters under the expressway bridge for 15 years in Taiyuan’s East Mountain Yang Jiayu coal mine area, accommodating 36 residents, who were always surrounded by noise and lack of light.

The Taiyuan municipal government issued an emergency plan on April 12, asking concerned bureaus to relocate the group of people on April 16, and that the building be demolished no later than April 18, the report said.

In light of this move, safety checks of residential buildings near eight expressway bridges in the East Mountain area will be carried out.
