China to enhance co-op with Kyrgyzstan

BEIJING - China on Wednesday said it is ready to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan to deepen bilateral relations.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the remarks while addressing Kyrgyzstan's preliminary presidential election results at a press briefing.
According to the preliminary results announced by the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan, incumbent Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev won with over 60 percent of the votes.
China respects the Kyrgyzstan people's choice and is pleased to see the country's stable political situation, sustainable economic development, and the continuously improving standard of living, Hong said.
The spokesman said China hopes to work with Kyrgyzstan to consolidate the two countries' traditional friendship and beef up cooperation in all fields based on mutual respect and benefit.
China also will promote the coordination with Kyrgyzstan under multilateral organizations such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
