Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, from Datong city in North China's Shanxi province to Qinhuangdao city in North China's Hebei province, transports coal from west to east China with a total length of 653 kilometers.

The railway, open to passengers since December, 1992, is the country's first heavy haulage railway only for transporting coal.
