14 screenplays in the running for top award

China Film Association announced the nominees for best screenplay for its Second Film Script Awards, in Beijing on Jan 21.
Fourteen screenplays, including four made for television, were selected from about 500 entries made between November 2009 and October 2010.
The contenders include Su Xiaowei (Aftershock), Alex Law (Echoes of the Rainbow) and Yin Lichuan/Gu Xiaobai (Under the Hawthorn Tree).
The seven winning works will be selected by the association's film literature department and the awards will be given in March.
