MINNEAPOLIS, March 7 - Kevin Love tied the all-time NBA mark with his 51st consecutive double-double on Monday, though he could not prevent the Minnesota Timberwolves from losing to the Dallas Mavericks 108-105.
Love recorded 23 points and 17 rebounds to join Moses Malone, who set his 51-game record over two seasons from December 1978 to October 1979, for the longest streak of games with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The third-year forward will have a chance to break the record when the Timberwolves play the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
Love, a first-time All Star this season, is enjoying a breakout campaign and entered Monday night averaging 20.9 points and a league-leading 15.7 rebounds.
