ISLAMABAD - The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) for the first time in the women's hockey history nominated a Pakistani women judge for a significant event under it, officials said on Friday.

Zaib-un-Nisa, Pakistani hockey judge, has been selected as judge by the AHF for the Junior Girls Asian Cup Qualifying Round scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 4 to 12 this year.

Nisa, professionally a hockey coach, served as assistant coach of the Pakistan women's national team during 2006 and as technical official of the 2nd Girls Junior Asia Cup 2009 in Shanghai, China.

She was also assigned judge with the Pakistan's national women's contingent for the Asian Games Qualifying in July 2010.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) showed its satisfaction over the performance and selection of Nisa.

"I am thankful to PHF that always promoted the game and believed in me. I am looking forward to proving myself for the assignment in Bangkok," Nisa told local media on Friday.
