BEIJING – San Francisco-based social media game developer Zynga has worked with Tencent Weibo and the Chinese movie director Xu Jinglei, as it launched a festival promoting campaign in China.

Zynga said on Tuesday that starting from Thursday, players will meet with Amy, the heroine of Dear Enemy, in Zynga City and interact with her avatar and earn surprising rewards that showcase Amy's fashionable life including buildings that appear in the movie's important scenes.

Players' love and support for the movie will finally help them build a Dear Enemy Plaza in their cities, the companies said.

Xu Jinglei, an actress-turned director, is one of the best known among microblog users in China with almost 19 million followers on Tencent Weibo, a major microblogging service provider in the world's largest Internet market in terms of users.

"Zynga's vision is to connect the world through games. As part of this vision, we are committed to bring Chinese players high-quality and localized social games and create new and more interesting game experiences for them," said Andy Tian, General Manager of Zynga China.

He said Zynga City is the Chinese version of Zynga's global game CityVille. The partnership is the first entertainment partnership for Zynga City.

Xing Hongyu, General Manager of Tencent Weibo, said as the newest game on Tencent Weibo, Zynga City created new models of weibo games.

As the Christmas, New Year and the Chinese New Year are approaching, online game developers are also seeing their golden season with launches of new games or promotions.
