DV contest to herald Olympics

A series of projects, including the Beijing-London DV Contest, kicked off Nov 11 at the China International Exhibition Centre. Representatives from Propeller TV UK Ltd and its Olympic partners sang in a ceremony to commemorate the launch.
The United Kingdom’s Propeller TV is making its debut at the 6th Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Exposition. China Daily, CNLive and Beijing Chaoyang Media Center are co-organizing the contest.
As part of the 2012 China-UK Culture Year, the Beijing-London DV Contest will use the 2012 London Olympic Games as a chance to display original works to a large audience. The works created by college students illustrate the way Beijing has changed since holding the Olympics in 2008, they capture, reveal and promote Beijing’s Olympic spirit and culture to the rest of the world.
Yang Chunya, editor-in-chief of China Daily Website, and Ye Maoxi, chairman of Propeller TV, made the cooperation official Friday. Both sides will concentrate on the 2012 London Olympic Games, China’s cultural transmission, joint productions and program exchange.
