A suspected gunman was shot dead Friday by police in Hollywood after he opened fire on passing vehicles at a busy road.

The man opened fire at several passing vehicles near the intersection of the Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Friday morning before he was shot dead by police, local media reported.

Two people were injured in the shootings. It is still under investigation as to what prompted the gunman's shooting, police said.
