China's largest international trading port and the starting point of the maritime silk road, Guangzhou is known as the country’s "millennium business capital".
Former US president Jimmy Carter, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong have been visitors to Guangzhou.
