During her stay in Xi'an, Rousseff visited ZTE, a telecommunications equipment company, and the spectacular Terracotta Warriors unearthed near the mausoleum of China's first emperor Qinshihuang.

The Brazilian president arrived in Xi'an Friday evening after attending the BRICS Leaders Meeting in Sanya of South China's Hainan province and the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia.

The BRICS groups Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks with Rousseff during her stay in Beijing. The two leaders signed a joint communique that highlights their "broad consensus" on areas from bilateral trade to global governance.

It was Rousseff's first state visit to China since she took office in January.
