According to Clinton, the two countries have invested in "such intensive communication and now we are working on practical cooperation…our relationship is on a strong and solid basis."

"We are able to explore areas of agreement and areas of disagreement in a very open manner, which demonstrates the maturity of our relationship and the opportunities for us to take it even further in the future," Clinton said.
The US Secretary of State arrived in Beijing on Tuesday in a bid to ease tensions over US involvement in the territorial disputes and an increasing military presence in the region.
