Wang Kewei was elected as vice-chairman of the Singapore-based Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centers, the first Chinese citizen elected to the post, Science and Technology Daily reported on Sunday.

Wang is director of Guangdong Research Institute of Science Museums and has been promoting the internationalization and innovation of Chinese science museums, the report said.

Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centers was founded in 1997, to promote science, and provide a platform for communication in science and technology between its 48 member states, including China, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
